SEAToday.com, New York City - The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday (4/8) referred the Palestinian Authority’s application for Palestine to become a full member of the UN to the committee on the admission of new members.
Malta’s UN Ambassador Vanessa Frazier proposed the committee meet on Monday afternoon to consider the application. The committee is expected to make the decision about Palestine’s status this month.
Last week, the Palestinian Authority renewed their more-than-decade-old application to become a full member state of the UN. Palestine is currently a non-member observer state at the United Nations.
