SEAToday.com, Kobe-After an exquisite hiatus of seven years, PARAMABIRA (Paduan Suara Mahasiswa Bina Nusantara) made a triumphant return to grace the international choir stage: This time, at the 3rd Sing'N'Pray Kobe organized by Interkultur, a venerable institution steeped in the tradition of hosting world-class choral competitions since 1988.
The competition featured 4 categories that drew participation from 13 choirs hailing from 7 diverse countries. PARAMABIRA performed 4 songs: Alleluia (Tomoaki Yokoyama), Hope, Faith, Life, Love (Eric Whitacre), Canticum Novum (Ivo Antognini) and Gayatri (Bagus S. Utomo) under Music of Spirit & Faith category. With that, the team secured victory by attaining Gold Diploma level VII with an exceptional score of 26.75, setting the record for the highest score ever recorded in the Sing'N'Pray Kobe competition.
Gratitude permeated the hearts of PARAMABIRA's team members, with special acknowledgment bestowed upon their conductor and music director, Rainier Revireino, the 37 talented singers and the unwavering support from sponsors such as Galeri 24, Infolog, and CAR Life Insurance.
PARAMABIRA was established on November 26, 1990 as the Student Activity Unit of BINUS University, Indonesia. Under the guidance of Rainier Revireino as Music Director and Conductor, the choir has been awarded several national and international achievements from time to time.
