SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The research team of Senior High Islamic School (MAN) 4 Jakarta won the research competition of the Asean Innovative Science Environmental and Entrepreneur Fair (AISEEF) 2024, held from February 2 to 5, 2024. They won the gold medal from a total of 447 participating teams from 17 countries.
The five-member team researched the use of carbon dots from banana peels to identify borax content in food. MAN 4 Jakarta research team leader Alifia explained that currently, banana peels are not widely used and are considered organic waste.
It is known that carbon dots are widely used in biological imaging, environmental monitoring, chemical analysis, targeted drug delivery, disease diagnosis and therapy, and others.
