SEAToday.com, Mecca - Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas announced that Indonesia will receive a quota of 221,000 pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage. He made this announcement during the closing ceremony of the 1445H Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday (6/19).

Minister Yaqut expressed his appreciation to the Saudi Hajj Ministry for providing the quota early. This early notification will allow Indonesia to accelerate preparations for next year's Hajj. He also commended the Saudi authorities for their strict enforcement of Hajj and non-Hajj visa regulations.

The minister concluded by praising the successful implementation of the 2024 Hajj (1445H). He highlighted the low number of unfilled quota spots this year, which is the smallest in over a decade, despite Indonesia being the largest source of Hajj pilgrims.
