SEAToday.com, East Java - The panel of judges at the Kraksaan District Court in Probolinggo, East Java, sentenced Andrie Wibowo Eka Wardhana (41), manager of a wedding organizer, to two years and six months in prison and a fine of IDR3.5 billion for causing fire to the Teletubbies' hill forest on Mount Bromo. The indictment was read by a panel of judges at the Kraksaan District Court, Probolinggo Regency, East Java, on Wednesday (1/31).

The sentence is lighter than the prosecution's request of three years in prison and a fine of three billion rupiahs instead of six months in prison. The panel of judges gave the prosecutor or the defendant's lawyer seven days to accept or appeal the verdict.

The defendant's lawyer, Hasmoko, said his party still considered the verdict very heavy, although the judge's sentence was lighter than the prosecutor's demands.
