SEAToday.com, Gaza - Palestinian journalist and Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail al-Ghoul has been released after being detained by the Israeli military for 12 hours during their raid into the al-Shifa hospital early Monday (3/18).

Al-Ghoul, along with several of his crews and other reporters, were in the hospital to cover the Israeli military’s raid into the al-Shifa hospital, where thousands of civilians, medical staff, and patients were trapped inside the complex. Witnesses said that al-Ghoul was severely beaten and verbally abused by Israeli soldiers before being arrested along with other journalists and dozens of people from the hospital. The forces also reportedly destroyed the broadcasting equipment and vehicles. 

Quoted from Al Jazeera, al-Ghoul said that he and other journalists were stripped of their clothes, forced to lie on their stomachs, then blindfolded with their hands tied. He added that he heard some of his colleagues were also released but did not have enough information about their whereabouts.
